How to Add a Feed Manually

November 1, 2008 by admin

DaisyFeed allows you to add new feeds manually.  To create a new feed, press the “Categories” button on the bottom of home page.  From there, you should see a page like so:

Tap the category to which you would like to add a feed. Once selected tap the [EDIT] button in the upper right hand corner.  For example, here’s what the AutoDiscovery channel looks like after you tap the [EDIT] button:

From here, clicking on the green plus symbol will let you add an entirely new feed.  Enter a name and description for your feed.  Then enter the full URL to the feed (you might have to view source on the homepage of the feed to figure this out). For example, here’s what a feed to Silent PC Review would look like:

Also, note that on the edit page, you can easily add this feed to your favorites list by sliding the “OFF” toggle switch to “ON”.  That feed will be added to your favorites page!  You can also easily change the category by hitting the blue arrow!

    Hi,

first Congratulation for the excellent work already done - and shared for free. It’s great.

Unfortunately I can’t import OPML file, even if I renamle it to .xml, Daisy Feed does recognize the Opml, detect there are 119 feeds …. and that’s it. It doesn’t display these feeds in the newly created category.

    What did I miss ?

If you want to try you can access the opml file here:

    Thanks !

    Math -

I just checked on tuaw.com (because i have it in my personal favorites) and the URL i am using is slightly different than the one you are using.

i typed tuaw.com in AutoDiscovery and got the main TUAW feed. Try it out and see if that helps you.

    Thanks
    dB

Just started using DaisyFeed, and added a few, but not sure if there is a problem with the feed, but can’t AutoDiscovery macintouch.com. Also, when I manually add, no news items show up. I get an error: “Check URL definistion or internet…”
    tried both:

    feed://www.macintouch.com/rss.xml
    html://www.macintouch.com/rss.xml

I’m guessing maybe something wrong with the feed

I keep looking up “daisy feed” in the app store, but the app never seems to show up, what’s up with that?? Why isn’t it on the app store??
